Hello, Creative Peeps!I wanted to drop in today and share a bit of inspiration! I've been watching the 2016 Rio Olympics, like sooo many other people right now! I mean, the Olympics only come around once every 4 years! I want to take it all in! I'm completely inspired by the athleticism, artistry, and unity that I see in the Olympics :) Being an artist, I'm going to share a bit of art-spiration! I have to admit, I wan't thinking about the artistry, the design, the colors of the 2016 Olympics at first. I watched off & on, catching different events, from volleyball, to soccer, to wrestling. I was focussed on the athletes...the heart, soul, and dedication that they must have. I first noticed it when I saw the hurdles! The coloful, vibrant, swirling hues of the hurdles. I thought, wow! I love this color palettte. It's full of energy and vibrancy, and it represents the Olympics so well. Naturally, I had to paint with this palette! I gravitated straight to my Dr. Ph Martin's Hydrus watercolors*! I am really new to watercolor, but I LOVE these paints! They are wonderfully vibrant, and full of color! I knew I could mix the Olympic colors with these beauties. I didn't even take time to set up my camera! I dove into painting :) I made it my goal to capture what I feel are key elements of the Olympics - the movement, energy, and splash it makes around the world! I'll let you decide how I did :) I recorded a mini-video showing my work...in which my daughter, who was playing a video game nearby, exclaimed unexpectedly at exactly the right moment for me to keep on recording :). I also created a little slideshow, so you can take a closer look at the paintings! And, here are some of photos, just in case you want more :) I've made all of these paintings available in my Artfinder shop :) I'm curious. Are you inspired by the Olympics? What about the Olympics makes your heart sing? Leave a comment below, or over on FB, to let me know!
