Hi there Creativity Seekers! I hope you are well! I have been away from the blog for a while, and YouTube, too. I've spent a lot of time prepping for my teaching gig at Michaels. It's been a lot of work + a lot of fun. Now, I'm caught up with it, and the ball is rolling. To see my calendar of classes, click here. I've also been in my planning phase -- STILL! I know, it's March, but for me, planning seems to be a contunual thing. I have sooo many ideas, it takes time to get them organized, prioritized, and narrowed down. And, last but, not least, I have been making art :) My latest experimental foray is in the world of whimsical faces. I've been practicing drawing almost every day. If you follow me on FB or IG. or even on Pinterest, you have seen some of my practice drawings! I started out by practicing with pencil and charcoal. Most of these lovely ladies took about 2 hours or more to draw. I enjoy it, but it takes a chunk of time! I am happy to say that I am making a ton of progress. Some of my faces have quite literally turned into pumpkins, but most are not so bad. I am trying to let go of making them completerly realistic or perfect. I know myself well enough to know that won't work for me! They are meant to be beautiful, whimsical, quirky, imperfect, and very expressive faces. :) In my quest to incorporate a more abstract, less perfect style into my faces, I've been trying different types of pencils, markers, etc.
On a whim, I decided to try some crazy multi-color pencils that I have in my stash. BEST WHIM EVER!! (ok, maybe not best ever, but definitely a good one!) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Click "Read More" to continue >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> |
