Contest!
How many faces can you find?
Inky Goodness Art by Jessica Sanders
How many Faces? Inky Goodness Art by Jessica Sanders
Sometimes, I just get carried away...
How the contest works:
1.  Find as many faces as you can.
2.  Post the number of faces you found here in the comments, on FB, Instagram, or Pinterest.
3.  If you get the EXACT number of faces that I drew, you automatically win an original Inky Goodness drawing sent directly to you via Snail Mail!  (If there are several winners, this may take a while, since I will have to create them individually)
4.  Everyone who guesses will be entered into a drawing to receive a limited edition, signed art print via Snail Mail :)
5.  I will choose 3 winners randomly...yes, literally draw your name from a hat!
6.  Contest ends Thursday, July 23, 2015 midnight CST.
Good luck!!
Winners will be announced Friday, July 24, 2015.

Catching up...

My booth! at Katy Home & Garden Show. Photo courtesy of John Sanders.
So, I just wanted to catch up with everyone :)   I thought you might like to know how the Katy Home & Garden Show went, and what is coming up.

Katy Home & Garden Show

I have to confess...I have struggled a bit with calling the show a success.  I did not sell any art, so in that sense, I was somewhat disappointed.

That being said, I am happy that I did it.  The great thing was meeting so many interesting people.  I chatted with people about art, life, ups and downs of remodeling, etc.  I met several artists, made some new connections, and learned a lot.  After taking some time to process, I can honestly say that I do consider it a success.

My biggest take-away from the show (so far) is that a lot of people want murals! The thing is, I have painted walls many times, but had not really considered doing murals, translate--art on walls.

I am happy to announce, that you will soon see murals  added to my business..so keep your eyes peeled!  :)

Classes at Hobby Lobby!

I am now offering workshops at Hobby Lobby, located on Fry Road @ Grand Parkway in Katy, Texas.

Think Painting with a Twist with a twist.  I will guide you through creating an original abstract painting that you will be proud of!  Its still no pressure and lots of fun, you will learn specific techniques for completing the painting that is offered that day. You do not need any painting experience to take this workshop.

For details, click here.  A calendar with upcoming projects will soon be appearing on ColorMeCreativeArt.com

So exciting!!  :)

Coming up on the blog...

I will be doing a short series called, "A Simple Guide to Art".  I will be sharing how to choose art, how to light art, where to buy art locally, etc.  If you have any questions, just leave a comment on my site or FB page.  I will do my best to answer!

Looking forward to your comments and feedback!  Also, if you know someone who loves art, please share this!

Just returned from Space City Con!

What is that? you ask

Well, let me tell you.  It is a great gathering of geeks, sci-fi nerds and fans, artists, celebrities -- amazing creative people!  I would say you can't fit much more creativity into one room.  (You can check out Space City Con website here.)  Let's just say, it is FUN!

I spent my time showing paintings, and writing in The Hobbit/ Lord of the Rings/ Tolkien inspired Elvish.  I was surrounded by talented artists and artisans as diverse as you can find.  It was great!  Two of the celebrities actually took the time to stop by my table and comment on the beauty of my paintings--an ego boost for sure!!

"Ascend" - 24" x 48" Original Abstract Acrylic Painting by Jessica Sanders
Did I mention that Phil Snyder, the voice of Disney's Jiminy Cricket, was just across the aisle from me?  I was so happy that my "conscience" was at the convention with me :)  Kept me out of trouble.
I am posting photos on FB today, you can find them here.  Lots of photos of cool cosplay characters, and a few of the celebrities that were there...fun stuff! Hope you enjoy.

P. S.  My next show will be at the Katy Home and Garden Show, January 25-26.  Stop by and see me...mention my blog, and I will give you a free art print!  (I will be in the Robinson Pavilion just across from the stage.)
