Giving art is a wonderful way to embrace the holiday season. If you are like me, there are people in your life who seem to have everything. We all want to give meaningful gifts that the recipient will enjoy and cherish! I mean, that's the whole point, right? We show we care and that we are thinking of them by the gift we give them. But, what does that have to do with giving art? Let me tell you a story :) My dad is one of those people. He seems to have everything he wants, or rather, he really doesn't want anything. But, I want to give him a gift during the holidays to show him I care and that he is a very special person in my life. It's a tricky task. I am always looking for something really unique. One Christmas, I came across an amazing gift! I was shopping at one of those big home improvement stores, and when I came outside, I heard a chain saw. Now, I grew up in the country, so I knew exactly what the sound was...but, I wondered why was I hearing it at the store? Naturally, I went to check it out. To my surprise, the chain saw was being used by a sculptor. He was carving logs into beautiful forest animals. At once, I knew this was the perfect gift for my nature loving dad! The sculptor carved the most beautiful bear, and that was the one I chose. It is sitting on my dad's fireplace right now. He loved it! If you are looking for the perfect unique gift, you may want to consider contacting a local artist, or perhaps going online to shop for that special someone. There are so many options when it comes to art, from sculpture to painting to handmade goods, you may just find something special for yourself, too! Good luck on your search! P. S. I am doing a series of ORIGINAL abstract and abstract landscape paintings in gift-giving sizes at gift-giving prices especially for the holiday season! You can find them on my artfinder page, or contact me directly for special requests :) Paintings/Drawings featured in my blog are for sale from me directly for a short time. Please contact me if you would like to make a purchase.
