As I travel along this artist's path, I find myself painting many different subjects.  I paint landscapes, birds, flowers, or even portraits.

For me, art is an adventure.

Painting, drawing, creating--these are all pathways to new and unexplored territory.  

Exciting!

But, like any adventurer, I also enjoy coming back home.  
That's why I always circle back to abstract art.  
It reminds me of where I began - that day when I suddenly understood that I am an artist.  That day when I realized that what I had been calling 'backgrounds' was actually art in and of itself.  The day my true artist journey began.

With abstract painting there is no object...there is only opportunity.
The blending of colors, the sheer joy of putting paint on canvas, the what-if's along the way, the painting speaking it's own visual language - these are things that delight my soul.

And, so, I circle back to abstract, my first love.  

The icing on the cake?  Being able to share it with you.  :)
